Qualcomm has launched a new developer platform for building head-worn augmented reality experiences: the Snapdragon Spaces XR Developer Platform.
Qualcomm has also lined up a wide range of partners, including Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, Niantic’s Lightship platform, Unity, Viacom CBS and others. Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile U.S. are also partnering with Qualcomm to support startups that use Snapdragon Spaces through the hubraum program.
3D assets and digital twins are going to play an important role in ecosystems like these, allowing customer to experience different and unique ways to view your products. The hardware solutions currently are still a little bulky, but these will become better and better with time, to a point where it could even be integrated into regular frames.
